The Tabernacle Church, which bought the former Temperance Billiard Hall, on the junction of Courthill Road and Lewisham High Street, has also taken over Ladywell House, the old vicarage for St Mary’s Church.

The church is using Ladywell House for its office space. The grade II listed billiard hall, which is under going a four phase renovation, is being transformed into a community centre, conference centre and chaurch.

The Tabernacle’s former home on Algernon Road, a Grade II listed Victorian red brick building, is now the subject of a planning application from the World Mission Agency – Winners Chapel International (Planning application DC/23/134205)

Winners Chapel, which is based in Dartford, had income of more than £14m in 2022 with expenditure of £10m, mainly its charitable activities.

The Winners Chapel is proposing the creation of a new mezzanine 2nd floor level, the installation of a lift, together with new secondary glazing to the windows, an air source heat pump and internal and external alterations to include an altar redesign.
