
The wait is finally over! From the May 30 to June 7 2025, Brockley Max returns for its 24th year, transforming our streets, parks, and venues into a stage for incredible events that you won’t want to miss!
With our nine days of creativity just around the corner, Brockley Max is teaming up with venues across Lewisham to bring you a packed programme with unforgettable events.
Designed to inspire, entertain, and bring our community together; there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Curious about what’s in store? Here’s a preview of some exciting events to look out for:
- Kicking off the festival with an evening of live music, the legendary Brockley Max Opening Night returns to downtown Brockley on Friday May 30 with the incredible Guns 2 Roses headlining a line-up that features 10 great performers from across south London.
- The streets of Ladywell, Lewisham and Brockley will come alive with the return of the Music Trail on Saturday 31 May, which sees a dozen pop-up performances in parks, gardens and outside landmark venues plus an all-day takeover of the Busk Stop at Lewisham Shopping Centre’s Central Square guaranteed to buoy you up as you shop. There are also amazing jazz, folk, indie and dance music nights throughout the festival hosted by the area’s many great venues.
- Brockley Max 2025 also features a brand-new Story Trail on Sunday June 1 featuring nationally acclaimed authors and poets including Serena Arthur. This complements the programme of author events at Crofton Books Bookshop which includes a must-see talk with acclaimed author Natasha Brown on Wednesday June 4.
- Quaggy Printmakers and Make Mee Sewing Studio will be inviting festival-goers to get creative with a chance to learn sustainable stitching and try their hands at lino printmaking, plus there are exhibitions running throughout the festival at Lewisham Arthouse, Artdog Gallery and Fabriq micro gallery.
- Brockley Max has also worked with developer Amro to brighten up the parade of former shops on Loampit Vale, commissioning stunning Murals with incredible, vibrant designs by muralists Luke Smile and Matilda White adding to the roster of amazing street art in the borough.
- A major highlight is the beloved Max In The Park on Saturday June 7 at Hilly Fields, which has a full programme of music, kids’ art workshops, storytelling, face painters, two bars and a craft market featuring more than 30 makers which is perfect for the whole family!
- Fresh off appearances on America’s Got Talent and global tours, Robin S & N-Trance will take centre stage at the Fox & Firkin for a night you won’t forget on June. 7
- A spectacular 10-hour celebration ofLewisham’s best folk music, Folk In The Garden takes place at The Wickham Arms on Saturday June 7.

Brockley Max community festival returns for its 24th year on May 30

Brockley Max, the annual community arts festival, returns for its 24th year on May 30 with nine days of music, poetry, story-telling and arts and craft workshops.
Designed to inspire, entertain, and bring the community together, the festival takes place in lots of different venues across Brockley, Ladywell, Crofton Park and Honor Oak.
It is a non-profit festival that everyone can attend and be part of and most of the events are free to access. This year the main sponsors of the festival, which attracts several thousand people each year, are AMRO, Landsec, Brockleys Rock, The Brookmill, and St Dunstan’s College.

The festival kicks off with the Brockley Max Opening Night, an evening of live music in Coulgate Stree on May 30 with Guns 2 Roses headlining.
After that there will be a host of events – music nights, poetry readings, art installations and collaborative projects, dance workshops, film nights, talks, street theatre, and craft events – in venues across the area.
There will be a music trail on May 31 and a poetry and story telling trail on June 1 – both will showcase thge abundance of local talent.
Crofton Books will host a series of storytelling events with a talk by author Natasha Brown on June 4; there will be a creative writing workshop on June 4 at Amrutha, Honor Oak park; soul music at the Chandos on June 6 and Max in the Park on June 7 – with workshops, storytelling and a craft market, perfect for the whole family.
Dance music icons Robin S & N-Trance will take centre stage at the Fox & Firkin for a night you won’t forget on June 7. And thre will also be a 10 hour celebration of Lewisham’s best folk muisic – Fok in the Garden – at the Wickham Arms on
June 7.
