South London Healthy Homes, a partnership betwen the community and local councils, has been set up to help local people who are struggling to pay for electricity and gas.

At least one in ten people in south east London find it difficult to afford to pay for their vital energy services.  The team at Healthy Homes can help.

It offers free expert advice to residents on how they can make their homes more energy efficient, and get grants and discounts. The team will also explain how residents could pay less for their electricity and gas.

People do not need to suffer the cold in silence, says Healthy Homes. “But we need your help to reach out to those who can’t afford to turn the heating on this winter.”

Healthy Homes says it offers:

Free expert and independent telephone energy advice for vulnerable residents in Greenwich, Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark , Lambeth and  Bromley until end March 2021.

Small measures. “We can also offer FREE small energy saving measures (delivered to resident’s homes).”

To book a telephone advice session call 0808 169 1779 or refer a client www.cact.org.uk/swtw.

·Titilope Adeoye, energy adviser, says the team is happy to join any online community gathering to give a short explanation about the free energy advice service and collect the details of those interested in benefitting).

The team also offers a 30-minute remote workshop to provide clients with money saving advice. More information is availabvle here.  To book a workshop email titi@seice.org.uk with a suggested date or call 07935003341
