The next Ladywell Assembly – your chance to have a say on what’s going on in your neighbourhood – is on Tuesday June 27 2023. There will be some important topics up for discussion .
Police Safer Neighbourhood Updates / Community Safety. There will be a representative from Ladywell Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and officers from the Council’s \Community Safety Unit will attend the assembly to take questions on antisocial behaviour and safety in your area. Concern has mounted in some parts of the neighbourhood after the recent fatal stabbing of a 29 year old man in his car on Malyons Road. Flat residents have also reported increased anti-social behaviour in some blocks in the ward.
Catford Regeneration Plans – what’s included in the plan. There’s lots of development planned in Catford and it will almost certainly affect Ladywell. TfL are aiming to rerout the South Circular road through the car park to the south of Laurence House, Catford, in an effort to create a greener town centre and a healthier and more enjoyable place for people to live, work and visit. Developers Barratt London are also refining their proposals for the development of the Catford Island site to create new connections, green public spaces and a dynamic mix of residential, retail and community space.
Finally there will be some feedback on the NCIL funded projects in the ward.
Local Assemblies bring together residents, councillors, the police, local organisations, and the wider community to decide on how to improve the local area. Open meetings are held up to 4 times a year and anyone who lives, works, or studies in Ladywell Ward is welcome to attend and get involved.
The Assembly provides a chance to raise other issues that matter to you. So do come along and have a say on how to improve your area.
