Local residents take videos of moped riders speeding through Ladywell Fields

Ladywell Fields – moped cuts through from Malyons Road to Catford Green

Residents of Catford Green have caught on video growing numbers of moped riders speeding through Ladywell Fields.

They are worried the moped riders pose a serious risk to park users, especially young children.

Some residents say there have already been several near misses, with riders swerving to avoid mothers and their children.

Catford Green residents say the problem appears to be getting worse, with moped riders regularly cutting across the middle field from the Catford Green development to Malyons Road.

They have raised their concerns with Lewisham council and Glendale but are worried not enough action is being taken to stop the riders.

Lewisham and Glendale have said they will place temporary warning  signs against motorbike and moped use at park entrances.

Residents and park users have set up a Facebook group, and are posting videos and photographs of incidents. They have been asked by the council to note the times and details of any mopeds seen in the park.
