Community arts festival Brockley Max 2023 kicks off on June 2 with an Opening Night party in the afternoon and an evening of music and dancing in the street.

Until mid- March it had all been in doubt because of a lack of funding.

But an Opening Night crowdfunding campaign, an amazing community response, sponsors, advertisers, volunteers and event organisers have made another incredible festival with a superb musical line-up possible.

Sponsored by Brockley’s Rock, the opening night party will start at 4.00pm with a host of acts from rock, folk, punk … you name it! Acts include rap and RnB talent SlickdotR, Jay Johnson, and Uncz.

Bands performing will include The Palindromes, Alex and the WonderLand, Guns 2 Roses, and there’ll be dance troupe Serious Soul Sisters. It will be hosted by MC Dre.

Download the festival programme here www.brockleymax.co.uk. Running from June 2 until June 10 there will be exhibitions everyday, a Black Icons Exhibition, guided tours, film nights, live music in lots of pubs around Brockley and Ladywell; and the Brockley Max Music Trail on Sunday June 4.

Download the festival programme here www.brockleymax.co.uk.
