Brockley Max is looking for three exceptional mural artists to create prominent public artworks across Brockley, Ladywell and downtown Lewisham as part of the community festival’s 25th anniversary celebration.

Ladywell mural will; be on gates of Playtower

The Ladywell mural will be on the gates of the Playtower and will be linked to a screening of the Playtower film – “Memories of Ladywell Baths” by David Stock.

The film captures the history of the building as a swimming pool, gym, and dance hall and features interviews with residents who used the baths.

Applications from artists are now open! The closing date is April 24.

The Lewisham site will require a large mural on Molesworth Street that reflects the food and music culture of Lewisham’s diverse population.

It forms part of Lewisham Shopping Centre’s sponsorship of Brockley Max festival. It will be a prominent site that can be seen from road and by train passengers.

Full location and briefing details are available at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfVBOgC4z7A0bSalBeXlHB-D7ugZz8RihW27jBgADQxdHrilw/viewform

Lewisham Shopping Centre has asked the Brockley Max team to oversee the commissioning and delivery process, with outline ideas for the site to be submitted by April 24 and a potential start onsite in early May.

In 2025, Brockley Max oversaw the commissioning and delivery of murals in Loampit Vale at AMRO’s Lewisham Retail Park site.

Having commissioned multiple murals including our Black Icons Project and been lead organisation in the Brockley Street Art Festival, Brockley Max will be producing a mural map of the area as part of our 25th anniversary festival celebrations.
