Amro Partners, which is redeveloping ther Lewisham retail park site, is teaming up with community based arts festival Brockley Max to create mural artworks for the shutters of three disused shopfronts on Loampit Vale.

Amro says as part of its plans to redevelop the Lewisham Retail Park it is looking “for talented artists to bring bold, beautiful murals to life on the shutters of three vacant shops along Loampit Vale – one of the main gateways into Lewisham town centre”.

“This is your chance to showcase your work to thousands of passers-by every day and help celebrate the incredible people who make Lewisham legendary – from musicians and writers to athletes, activists, and local heroes. … Your artwork should honour the spirit of Lewisham and its amazing community,” it adds.

Amro says it has tasked Brockley Max with finding muralists to spray paint vibrant and creative artwork on the three shutters – Carpet Direct, Morley’s Chicken and Classique Nail Bar.

The site is temporary but expected to last a few years. the submission deadline for pitches is April 24. the budget for the work will be £450 for Morleys and Classique, plus £80 for materials; and £550 for Carpet Direct site and £160 for materials.
