To mark the 75th anniversary of Windrush Day on June 22 2023, Lewisham council is offering micro grants of up to £500 to support community groups and organisations wanting to deliver projects that celebrate and recognise the contribution of the Windrush generation and their descendants in Lewisham.

“We are proud that many of the passengers who arrived on the Windrush settled in Lewisham and we want to celebrate their immense contribution to every aspect of British culture and daily life,” says the council

“We also know Lewisham residents will want to come together to celebrate and reflect on this momentous occasion in style.”

£5,000 will be available and we expect to fund at least 10 projects.

Deadline for applications is Midnight, Thursday April 27.

The application form can be found on the Council’s website: https://lewisham.gov.uk/inmyarea/events/windrush-day
