Best cafe, best pub, best market … Lewisham Mayor’s business awards now open for nominations and there’s host of new categories

July 18, 2022

The Lewisham Mayor’s Business Awards celebrate the achievements of local and independent businesses in the borough, and give a platform to some of Lewisham’s most loved businesses.

A 2021 high street survey found that 70 per cent of businesses on the borough’s high streets are independent. They help drive Lewisham’s economy and represent the fantastic diversity of the area.

This year Lewisham has created 14 new categories for the Business Awards and simplified the nomination form to encourage all residents to get involved to celebrate their favourite businesses in Lewisham!

The categories are:

1.    Best visitor attraction

2.    Best green business

3.    Best online business

4.    Best community contribution

5.    Best new business

6.    Best in creative sector

7.    Best independent high street business

8.    Best café

9.    Best restaurant

10. Best bar or pub

11. Best hair and beauty

12. Best independent food retailer

13. Best tradesperson

14. Best market

Nominations are now open and residents are invited to choose their favourite businesses through the council’s online form.

You can nominate businesses in as many or as few categories as you wish! For more information, please visit https://lewisham.gov.uk/businessawards

The awards are open to all businesses based in the London Borough of Lewisham.

Nominations can come from the business themselves, or can be made by customers, suppliers or partners.

Nominations close on Friday 19 August 2022.
