Brockley Max 2019: pick up a programme and prepare for the opening night party

May 8, 2019

Brockley Max kicks off on Friday May 31 with a party starting at 4.30pm in the streets by Brockley station.

The neighbourhood will be rockin’ to a host of local bands and performers including Danny and the Moonlighters, Koder, Yizzy and London Soul Choirs.

The full programme is now available at shops and venues in the area. It is also online.

Brockley Max stll needs your help! “We need volunteers .. we rely on having 80-90 volunteers each year to make the festival a success,” says Moira Tait, Brockley Max organiser.

“The festival just wouldn’t happen without them. There’s lots to do … we need programme sellers, raffle ticket sellers, stewards at events, drivers, team leaders, photographers … you name it …”

“If you have time come and join us. Contact our volunteer organiser Emma at volunteer@brockleymax.co.uk ”

“It’s fun …and you are contributing to a worthwhile community project.”

Brockley Max has never been a commercial festival. “All our income is used to cover costs and keep the event going the following year,” adds Moira.

“We ‘ve always aimed to keep as many events as possible free to ensure it is accessible to as many local people as possible.”

Brockley Max also need lots of local residents to put up estate agent boards in their front gardens for local estate agents Bryan & Keegan, who are big supporters of the festival.

Please send in your name and address to jane@brockleymax.co.uk

Volunteers in their own words …‘I volunteer for Brockley Max because I enjoy being part of a local group celebrating creativity.  The opportunity to build friendships, become further involved in the local area, and support the brilliant creative life of Brockley brings me a great deal of joy!’

‘I love BrockleyMax as it brings people locally together. The highlight,  of course, is the Party in the Park with lots of fabulous entertainment for all age groups.  Volunteering means I do my bit to make it possible and I meet great people along the way.’

‘I have been volunteering with Brockley Max festival now for 6 years-I always went to the events and thought it would be a good thing to get more involved with. I haven’t regretted it for one minute. I love helping out with this wonderful local festival and being part of the great team that makes it happen.’
