Local Police step up efforts to revive Safer Neighbourhood Panel in Ladywell

by Tony April 30, 2021
April 30, 2021

Steps are underway to revive Ladywell’s Safer Neighbourhood Panel which plays a valuable role in the ward by bringing police and community together to help prevent crime and solve neighbourhood problems.

The panel gives the community a chance to be involved in the setting of local police priorities, and by discussing local issues it can help decide how increasingly limited police resources are deployed.

But during last year’s lockdowns the panel was suspended. Now PC Jonathan Coupe has been given the task of reviving Safer Neighbourhood Panels across Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley.

He is working with Ladywell PC Andrew Dobson (Dobby). They would like to organise a one off “virtual” meeting on Microsoft Teams at 19:00 on Thursday May 13 2021.

During the course of the meeting, they will be looking to elect a new chair of the Ladywell panel.

Last Spring,  the vice chair and secretary stood down. Nico Springman agreed to stay on as chair until meetings could start again. He will now step down after holding the role for some time.

If you are interested in attending the online meeting or being involved in the Panel please contact PC Coupe or PC Dobson. Their email addresses are: Jonathan.Coupe@met.police.uk Andrew.Dobson@met.police.uk
