Brockley Max, the nine day community arts festival which celebrates the creative talent in and around Lewisham, has kicked off its fund raising efforts as it gears up for this year’s event from May 31 to June 8.
This year there’s a new way to supprt the festival which has been running for 22 years.
Brockely Max has recently been accepted as part of the Lewisham Lottery, which exists specifically to back good causes including community events. Draws take place weekly, with tickets costing just £1 apiece and cash prizes up for grabs.
“We are fundraising specifically for Art In The Park, the ever-popular family day on Hilly Fields,” says Moira Tait, festival director..
Packed with music, dance, workshops, craft and food stalls, with face painters and a bar, Art In The Park is a wonderful day and a chance to meet up with family and friends in one of the loveliest parts of our neighbourhood.
“Last year Art In The Park didn’t take place because of lack of funds. This year we hope to bring it back. Why not buy a ticket for friends and family and help make one of the cornerstones of our beloved Brockley Max festival happen,” says Moira.
