Make a difference: Lewisham Homes need committed community investment volunteers

by Cerelia February 18, 2020
February 18, 2020

As part of their new Community Engagement Strategy, Lewisham Homes are looking for engaged residents committed to making a difference in their community.

A new Community Investment Panel will be launched, and Lewisham Homes are looking for volunteers to help decide how and where this community funding will be spent. The Community Relations team say that volunteers would have to commit to coming to one meeting in person a year and the rest can be done remotely –  a few hours every quarter.

After a consultation of 800 residents, Lewisham Homes have set the following key areas as engagement priorities:

  • Training and Employment
  • Young People
  • Digital Support
  • Health and Wellbeing Activities

The Community Investment Fund is part of the plan to invest in communities in line with the above priorities. £210,270 of additional funding has been raised so far. Lewisham Homes will no doubt be trying to add to their existing community relations work, which includes training and employment programmes, various community engagement activities and developing community spaces across the borough.

If you are a Lewisham Homes resident and keen to get involved, you can read more and find out how to apply on the Lewisham Homes website. If you want to go ahead and apply you can do so by filling in the application form.
