Green Lewisham: Lewisham resident’s book on borough’s treasure trove of open spaces

November 14, 2022

This excellent book by Lewisham resident Candy Blackham and published this year is a wonder, writes Julian Watson. She researched all available historical sources and illustrated the book with her own beautiful photographs.

She visited and thoroughly investigated the multitude of lovely and interesting green spaces in our borough.

A must-read for Lewisham residents and already a standard reference book. The Ladywell section includes the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin Church in the high street and its acclaimed Therapeutic Garden, Slagrove Place, Brockley and Ladywell Cemeteries, Hilly Fields and Ladywell Fields.

The book is published by Clink Street Publishing and is available online. Highly recommended.
