Brockley Max ‘will be bigger, better and more fun’ in 2022 as it celebrates its 21st birthday

March 11, 2022

Despite the trials and tribulations of 2021 with an extremely successful, albeit mainly on-line, festival, Brockley Max returns in its full in-person glory to celebrate its 21st Birthday from May 27 to June 4 2022.

As part of Lewisham’s Borough Of Culture festivities this year, Brockley Max’s 2022 programme of events is shaping up nicely.  Running across various venues in Lewisham, Brockley Max 2022 will have something for everyone.

Moira Tait, founder and director of the festival, says: “We are delighted to be returning to the heart of the community this year … we will be celebrating the diversity and inclusivity of Brockley, Ladywell, Crofton Park and Honor Oak and with our 21st birthday we hope to make Brockley Max bigger, better and more fun than ever!”

At a glance, some of the great events on offer include:

The famous Brockley Max Opening Night is back featuring live music, DJs and more open air in Coulgate Street on May 27.

Art In The Park on Hilly Fields on June 4 from 12-6 pm – with family friendly activities such as live music, art workshops, storytelling and a craft market.

Brockley Music Trail bringing live music to front gardens and public spaces throughout the festival.

Brockley Max Art Trail engaging whole streets during the festival celebrating and connecting neighbours and communities

Brockleywood Nights sees the return of the shared cinema experience showcasing short films from local directors, both professional, student and amateur

Our 21st birthday Party at the Fox and Firkin pub

And plenty more to be announced at venues, pubs, streets, community centres, gardens and more throughout the festival.

Check out the full programme in May and more details at www.brockleymax.co.uk
