European real estate developer Amro will hold a third round of public consultations on its master plan for the development of Lewisham retail park in early September.
The online consultation will launch on September 2. But there will also be community drop-in events on Thursday September 4 in the evening and Saturday September 6 in the morning at 70 Loampit Vale, London SE13 7SN.
Amor says it will be an opportunity for local people to review the proposals and share their feedback ahead of the planning submission in late 2025.
The plan include about 1,000 new homes in five high-rise blocks, business units on the ground floors and accessible, landscaped green spaces.
Amro is aiming to submit a planning application for the development by the end of 2025 with the aim of starting construction on the site in April 2026.
Amro plans up to 1,000 new homes in £400m Lewisham retail park development
Amro, the European real estate investor, is holding a second community event showcasing its plans for the Lewisham retail park site and seeking feedback on its initial development proposals.
Amro acquired the retail park, which includes Matalan and Sports Direct outlets, from Legal and General in early 2024 and plans to transform the site into a £400m residential-led development.
The development forms a big part of the 20-year Lewisham regeneration plan and will include about 1,000 new homes in five high-rise blocks. One of the blocks is likely to be close to the maximum height of 35 storeys.
But as well as new homes, the residential blocks will house flexible ground floor space to support local small businesses and generate employment.
There will also be a focus on creating attractive and accessible landscaped green spaces, with open access into and around the site for pedestrians and cyclists.
Amro is aiming to submit a planning application for the development in August this year with the aim of starting construction on the site in April 2026.
