It’s all change at Ladywell Post Office – new management, new counters, and new opening hours

Ladywell Post Office Algernon Road

It’s all change at your local Ladywell Post Office in Algernon Rd.

The branch will be modernised and become what the Post Office calls one of its “local style branches”.

Staff and management, which has run the branch for more than 40 years, will also change.

There are about 11,500 Post Office branches across the UK most of them run by franchise partners or sub-postmasters

The Post Office says the refurbishment will allow customers to access services at “two low-screened, open-plan, modern serving points that are part of the retail counter”.

The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours, so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient.

The Post Office says customer satisfaction with “local style” branches is high, and many local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.

Most products and services will be available at the local branch although a few such as on-demand travel insurance and change giving will not be. Cheques will continue to be accepted as a method of payment.

To make the changes the branch will close, temporarily, on Saturday September 3 2022 at 13:00. The work should take about four weeks to complete.

The new opening times will be: Monday-Friday 09.00-17.30
Saturday 09.00-13.30
Sundays Closed
